An 8-day, 7-night time-hop from ultra-modern Singapore to two Indonesian destinations known for their history and high culture: Yogyakarta and Bali
Begin at Southeast Asia's city of the future, Singapore: a cultural melting pot and technological workshop with a dazzling series of attractions rooted in both old and new.
Stops at Singapore include a close encounter with nocturnal animals at the Night Safari; immersion in local cultures at Chinatown and Little India; and family-friendly fun at Sentosa, including a visit to the Dolphin Lagoon, Wings of Time, and Universal Studios.
You'll proceed next to Yogyakarta in Indonesia: the seat of kingdoms past and present, as evidenced by structures like the majestic 8th-century Buddhist mandala of Borobudur, related to nearby Buddhist temples Mendut and Pawon; and the fragile-looking Hindu Prambanan Temple. You'll also visit the present-day Sultan of Yogyakarta's Keraton and the Taman Sari water palace.
Explore Yogyakarta's cultural traditions hands-on when you visit the Kota Gede Gold & Silver district and go shopping at the city's busy Malioboro retail street.
Your last stop is Bali, where the island's gorgeous Hindu temples stand in the hundreds. You'll stop at the best and brightest of Bali's temples: the gorgeous water temples of Pura Ulun Danu Bratan and Tampak Siring; the magnificent seaside temple of Tanah Lot; the soaring Pura Taman Ayun at Mengwi; and the placid beauty of Gunung Batur in Kintamani.
Between stops, you'll have a romantic dinner al fresco on Jimbaran Beach, and stop for shopping at the key cultural town of Ubud.
